AISI 316L is a stainless steel alloy with excellent corrosion resistance, notable temperature resistance, and good machinability. Due to its chemical composition, which includes a higher amount of chromium and nickel compared to standard stainless steel, it is commonly used in applications requiring high corrosion resistance, such as in the chemical, food, pharmaceutical, and marine industries. It is also employed in the medical field for the production of surgical instruments and prosthetics.
